Against Stan's orders, Mark and demetri travel to Hong Kong in search of the woman claiming to have details regarding Demitri's murder. Lloyd forces Simon to a press conference, where Lloyd and his group acknowledge the possibility of their being responsible for The Event. The resulting fury puts both Lloyd and Simon in danger. Lloyd is concerned with the safety of Dylan, and Simon goes to the FBI for both protection and for information, believing that his group is not the ones responsible. Meanwhile, Zoey realizes that her flashforward did not mean what she thought it meant.
Mark, Demetri and Wedeck try to determine the links between all the attacks involving themselves. Demetri and Gough find a clue that was missing from Mark's flashforward. Lloyd is heartbroken when his son goes missing from the hospital.
Mark fields questions questions from the Senate Intelligence Committee about his flash-forward during a hearing about funding Wedeck's team. Janis ponders how her fast-forward will impact her current relationship, and Olivia receives information about Mark's flash-forward.
Olivia finds it difficult to take advice from Bryce. Mark and Demetri come to disagree with each other. While Nicole goes back to work and has a shocking premonition.
Mark and Janis arrive in Germany to discuss the past events regarding the blackouts. Demetri fears about his future. Meanwhile, Aaron tries to get Mark to help him with an appeal.
Mark and Demetri go to Utah to investigate a lead on a suspect who might have a connection to the global blackout. Olivia sees the man from her flashforward, while her daughter Charlie is having trouble dealing with hers.
A mysterious global event causes everyone to black out simultaneously for two minutes and seventeen seconds during which each person sees a glimpse of their lives six months from now, as of April 29, 2010. As the story begins, a character is saved from suicide and others have to face confusing situations. We also begin to learn some things about the mysterious "Mosaic Collective".
