The complicated life of Bill Henrickson, a Utah businessman who also happens to be a polygamist with three wives and seven children. As the owner of an expanding home-improvement store franchise, Bill works hard to satisfy the needs of his family, and frequently clashes with Roman, a.k.a. `The Prophet,' the father of his second wife, Nicki, who holds sway at a remote polygamist compound.
Jim wants to buy a necklace for Cheryl's birthday and instead of paying a lot of money for it, he buys one from Andy. The trouble arises when it's revealed that the necklace was taken off a dead womam, whose ghost is now haunting him.
Cheryl pressures Jim into doing charity, but when Jim gets a reward for his work back, she wants him to return the money. Jim decides to spend the money instead and just to make things more complicated, he buys her a gift with it.
In the third-season finale, Bill finds a prosecutorial ally to proceed with a plot to vanquish Roman and the Greenes once and for all, and shocks his brother-in-law with a deal to resolve the casino dispute. Meanwhile, Margene seizes an opportunity in the public eye; Nicki has a surprise visitor; Alby makes a desperate grab for power; and Sarah reveals her future plans.
Nicki's homecoming, after a visit from her sister wives, isn't what she imagined; Barb endures a trying experience at her old church; Ted does an about-face on the casino project; Scott's reunion with Sarah doesn't go over well with her father or brother; Joey is upset by Bill's change of heart about Roman after the Greenes' latest move.

Nicki, working at the DA's office, finds out the identity of the last witness against Roman. Barb's sister is back in town and her actions might put Bill's casino plans in jeopardy. Sarah changes her mind about the senior prom and takes Heather, Ben, and Franky with her -- upsetting Rhonda.
