The New Adventures of Old Christine is a comedy about a 35-year-old divorced mom (Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Seinfeld), who runs a 30-minute female-only gym with Barbara 'Barb'(Wanda Sykes), and tries to keep peace with everyone around her. That includes the judgmental stay-at-home moms at her son Richie's (Trevor Gagnon) private school, her ex-husband, Richard (Clark Gregg, The West Wing), and his new girlfriend (Emily Rutherfurd, The Ellen Show), whose name is also Christine, Old Christine's brother, Matthew (Hamish Linklater, Fantastic Four) lives with her. While attempting to teach some street smarts to Ritchie's class, Christine's suggestion of the school taking the students on a field trip ends in disaster when she ends up stranded at the station as the train leaves without her.
When the gym suddenly begins to become profitable, Christine and Barb find themselves coming into a lot of money. Barb decides to give to charity, and Christine must make the tough decision between splurging on a designer dress or following Barb's lead.

Right before Mr. Harris comes back into her life, Christine finds herself in love with Max.
